What we offer

Our Approach

In our approach, the importance of the unexpected and possible are recognised. There is no such thing as wasted time but a valuing of giving children all the time they need (Rinaldi 1998).

We seek to find the rhythm in every day responding to the needs and interests of the children and valuing their collective and individual voices to determine the flow rather than being stifled by routine. Research from Positive Psychology emphasises The best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times . . . The best moments usually occur if a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile. Csikszentmihalyi, 1990

We believe children have the right to enjoy being children and make space for the meaningful and deep learning which comes from a play-based curriculum. The creativity, the wonder and the joy that children bring to their discoveries are deeply valued by staff.
